Skull illustrations receive a softly aged, grungy treatment in these fussy-cut designs. Realistic shadows define the shapes against clean white backgrounds, combining an edgy subject with vintage-style surface texture rather than presenting the skulls as part of a complete background scene.
Make a skull the centre of a gothic journal spread with your own writing around it, or contrast the illustration with torn papers in an altered-book collage. It can also accent a dark-themed card without filling the entire front.
