Classic woman portraits give these retro cutouts an old-world character. Vintage tones, aged textures, and softly distressed edges bring the figures into a timeworn paper style. The portrait subject provides a human focal point for compositions built from decorative papers and collected ephemera.
Center a journal spread around one of the women, layer a portrait into an altered-book collage, or create a vintage-inspired greeting card. Your own handwriting and paper fragments can supply a setting around the figure, making the portrait part of a personal story or an imagined scene.
